Great full page ad in the Rock Island Argus today signed by dozens of docs opposing retention of Kilbride. They say, rightfully, that Kilbride drives docs out of Illinois and reduces access of patients to quality medical care.
Tom Kilbride and his campaign is performing conduct unbecoming of a Judge, or, frankly any person of ethics. By putting out a “Republican Voter Alert” to Republicans and pretending to be a Republican while he takes in $1,425,000 from the Democratic Party of Illinois since July 12, is dishonest. The Republican Party of Illinois vehemently opposes his retention. His only chance is to trick Republicans and conservatives to back him. We cannot let that happen. Kilbride will cast his vote for a crooked, gerrymandered legislative map in 2011 just as he did in 2001. That is one big reason the Dems back him with so much cash.
Bill Brady and Jason Plummer have taped great ads promoting a NO vote on Kilbride. I am appreciative of both of them for stepping out on this important issue and speaking truth to the power of the trial lawyers, union bosses, and some two and three faced lobbyists putting phony conservative credentials on partisan Democrat Kilbride.
Thank you to Chris Arndt and Art Havenhill of the Bureau-LaSalle County Tea Party for promoting Vote NO Kilbride at the Frankfort Tea Party.
Heard it was a big rally.
Justice Kilbride was trumpeting the endorsement of Rock Island County State’s Attorney Jeff Terronez. Now Mr. Terronez is being investigated over allegations surrounding his possible illegal activities with two underage girls. Turns out this “law enforcement” endorsement has fallen flat. Kilbride has scrubbed the State’s Attorney from his TV ads.
As I campaign around the 3rd Supreme Court District I am meeting many Doctors and small business owners who are stalwart opponents of Kilbride and who realize how critical it is to the Illinois medical and business climate that he not be retained. Docs are handing out “prescriptions” for court reform to their patients. They really understand how important this race is for the future of Illinois.
All that fluff and puff about Justice Kilbride being “independent” was proven false by tonight’s campaign finance filing. His committee waited until the final hours of the filing period to release the ugly partisan truth. He has taken $1,250,000 in campaign cash from the Democratic Party of Illinois. He has taken $250,000 from the Illinois Federation of Teachers and $90,000 from the PAC of the Illinois Education Association. For the union bosses at the big teacher’s unions to spend that much money on a Supreme Court race is a misuse of the hard earned dues of working teachers across Illinois. Not a school child in the state is helped by Kilbride’s pro-trial lawyer, anti-business, soft on crime record.
